EVENTS & VIRUS SUGGESTIONS POST

RULES AND INFORMATION PLEASE READ

» Please be as detailed as possible so everyone can understand. A virus explanation that isn't clear is liable to lose that virus votes during polling.

» IF YOUR VIRUS NEEDS TO BE SCHEDULED AT A SPECIFIC TIME, CONTACT A MOD AND IT CAN BE PUT ON THE CALENDAR. OTHERWISE, IT WILL BE SUBJECT TO POLLING.

» Please don't just suggest a virus on a whim, make sure you've thought it through! We end up with such a massive backlog that we'll never get through them.

» Yays, nays, and suggestions are okay, but in-depth plotting should be done elsewhere. Please take personal conversations to IM, to stop page cluttering.

» The virus with the lowest number of votes during polling will be removed. There's no rule against re-submitting it (if for example you know it had support and it was just that specific month was bad timing), but given the amount of suggestions we get, it's just not feasible to leave them all on the poll.

» The mods reserve the right to veto or edit any virus or event.

» Any event that the characters themselves will be orchestrating, such as Death's Picnic, a Halloween party, or a bar crawl, are NOT events for the purposes of this post. Permission is not needed to run such events. However, if you know the event is going to be of a considerable size, please avoid scheduling it alongside other viruses or major events to prevent comm flooding.

» Any event or virus (NOT a personal event or virus) that would require mod approval for sensitive subject matter also goes here. It will be treated as its permission comment.

VIRUSES: Affect a character physically or mentally. Includes fake-memory viruses. Examples: Pokemon virus, Alignment virus, High School AU Virus.
EVENTS: Involve characters doing something, often against their will. Examples: Portal event, Assassins event. They are not planned by the characters.
Canon-based happenings eg Shadow Plot will 90% of the time be events, as the emphasis will be on doing something, and outside of the characters' control.)

Description: Your movements now have a LOT more force behind them, inhumanly so! You run as if you had little rockets strapped to your shoes (hence the name). Your punches are much faster and hit much harder - hope your hands are tough! When you jump, you jump VERY high. Even your sneezes are like little hurricanes. Any movement you make is exaggerated thus. Try flapping your arms!
Anything else: Feel free to handwave away or avoid injury.

Rose Tinted Glasses

Duration: 1-2
Description: For some reason, you see all things in their best possible light. Car crashed? You can collect the insurance money, yay! Indigestion? Just another excuse to see your buddy at the clinic. Sunburn? Bah, you didn't need that skin anyway!
Anything else: Reality itself is not altered by the virus, of course, so use your discretion

Hoard!

Virus or Event?: Virus
Duration: 3-4
Description: Suddenly, you have an unexplained compulsion to start collecting things, doesn't matter what it is. Coins? Leaves? Bungee cords? Oil rigs? Chemicals? Rubber ducks? Potholes? Whatever it is, you will just make it keep growing until the virus is over.
Anything else: The creator of this virus cannot be held responsible for any legal, environmental, bodily, and/or social harm that may result.

The Eyebeams Have It

Virus or Event?: Virus
Duration: 1-2
Description: You have BLASTING MUTANT-STYLE EYEBEAMS!!! You'd better figure out how to control it, or else you'd be better off in the desert or something. Or you could surprise your enemies.
Anything else: Power levels are variable, and can (and should) be adjusted for your own purposes.

Jumping the Shark

Virus or Event?: Virus
Duration: 3-4
Description: Something seemingly innocent happens, and then everything makes no sense! Your friends are not acting the way you expect them to. Someone is inexplicably getting all of the attention. Even the nature of your universe keeps changing for no reason. It's like the writers for your series have lost their minds.
Anything else: Actual jumping of sharks are optional.
