Nephry IS married now, as her score told her. She didn’t marry Peony, but as said before, she still harbors love for him, and cares a lot about the man.
In the game, Nephry’s role is quite simple. When the crew stops in Keterburg due to the Tartarus needing repairs, Jade pays a visit to his sister, who is at that time, mayor of Keterburg. Nephry is elated to see that her brother is alive, having heard that he’d died during Akzeriuth, and listens to their story. After hearing all that they had gone through, she gives them free stay in Keterburg Hotel, but asks Luke to come by alone later so that she could explain something to him.
When Luke does come by, she explains her brother’s past to him, and helps him to understand Jade a little more. During that explanation it is revealed that Jade began fomicry research at the age of nine, after Nephry had broken her favorite doll. He’d used fomicry to replicate the doll, and from then on had expanded his studies of it. She also went on to explain how Professor Gelda Nebilim had helped to change the young Jade from a “monster” to a human being, up until the time he had tried to use the seventh fonon and accidentally burned her house down, killing Professor Nebilim in the process.
Other than providing a backstory to Jade’s past, however, Nephry doesn’t really have much of a role in the game itself, and she’s only prominent in that one scene. D: Sad.

It wasn’t often that Nephry had dreams as she slept, but whenever she did, they were mainly of her childhood. She would be swept away in the land of snow she now governed, the sound of laughter in her ears as she and Peony made a snowman. Jade was nearby, his nose and mind absorbed deeply in a book he had borrowed from Professor Nebilim, and Saphir would be not far from wherever Jade was. Professor Nebilim also sat nearby, laughing at how the attempt to build a snowman somehow became a snowball fight.
And then, the dream would fast forward; first, by hours. Hours later, the entire crowd of children and their beloved teacher would sit around a table in the school, drinking hot cocoa in attempts to relieve the cold they all knew they should be accustomed to by now. Professor Nebilim, despite knowing her students were still cold, still made every effort to teach the children what they needed to know; only half listened.
The dream then fast forwarded again; this time, several years. Nephry could see the fire from her window. Fast forward again. She could hear Peony’s voice calling to her, telling her that he would be returning to Grand Chokmah. Fast forward once more. Her 23rd birthday score was being read, and she didn’t like the results.
Nephry often woke up crying from those dreams. She didn’t allow it to get to her for too terribly long, however; after all, she had a job to do, and she couldn’t be a mess in front of the people she knew and loved.
