Character: Lucy Miller
Fandom: The Santa Clause (3)
Character Notes:

Lucy is part of the quickly growing Calvin family, by association. Lucy is the spunky, spritely daughter of Neil and Laura. Laura happens to be Scott Calvin's (Santa!) ex wife, and the mother of Charlie (who is Scott Calvin's son), therefore making her Charlie's half brother, and thus family, by again, by association. Confused? Good! Let's proceed. Lucy first makes her appearance in the Santa Clause 2 as a seven year old. She suspects Scott is Santa, even though she doesn't know for certain. It's probably the reindeer that did it, don't you think? The movie doesn't provide a WHOLE lot of background information to her, the story is very much centralized on Charlie, Santa, and Carol (the soon to be MRS.CLAUS but she doesn't know it...yet.), so her characterization waits until movie 3.

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause centralizes itself around Jack Frost and Santa (again, Scott Calvin). This time Lucy is a bit more prominent in her role. Her love of snow globes is portrayed early in the movie, with Santa giving her one of herself, hugging a snowman. The snowman turns pink, because her hugs are so full of love. A little cheesy, but it's a holiday movie, what else is expected? At any rate, it is because of Lucy that Neil and Laura end up at the North Pole(and ultimately frozen solid by Jack Frost, thanks a lot, buddy!) to spend the holidays. Lucy is rather persuasive about it, and Laura eventually chimes in (along with Neil - who throws the final guilt trip) and they talk Santa into letting them come. This is her first trip to the North Pole, so naturally, a girl Lucy's age (11!) would be very excited, and that she is! She is naturally very excited to see the North Pole, and while things are rapidly heading downhill due to Jack Frost's tinkering(who also threatened her and scared her half to death towards the end of the movie, really, not a nice thing to do to a little girl!) and meddling, Lucy makes herself at home. Lucy, along with Laura and are a huge comfort for Carol.

Lucy happily admits she believes in the legendary figures, like Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy. But...ah...that Jack Frost character? She's never heard of him.

First Person (entry type):

Wow! I got this AWESOME early Christmas present from Uncle Scott! I’m totally loving it, it’s got all the coolest features on it. And, everyone is blogging now a days, so I figured I’d go ahead and start up one of these journals. I love meeting people, so this seems like a pretty cool way to go about it. Charlie says that Christmas is gonna be great this year, and that this laptop is a ‘premonition’ of that. I’m not sure what that word means yet, I’m gonna go look it up on dictionary.com when I’m done with this post for the community. What’s a drama duck, anyway?

Is anyone else super excited about Christmas this year? I can’t wait, I love this time of year, especially when we decorate the tree! Hopefully we can go visit Uncle Scott this year again(and I can see the Hall of Snowglobes again, that was so cool!), for Christmas! It’s the best holiday EVER, especially with Uncle Scott! I really hope that creepy old man isn’t there again, though…

Third Person:

Christmas was Lucy’s favorite time of year. It was the best one, in her opinion, not only because of the toys, but because she got to spend time with the people she loved most. Her mom wasn’t busy with work, Neil was off and trying to give everyone a psychiatric evaluation, Charlie was rambling about snowboarding, and Lucy…well Lucy just liked being in the middle of it all. The small, petty squabbles everyone got into, the laughter, the big Christmas feast, everything about it appealed to Lucy. It was just…such an open holiday! There weren’t any secrets in their family, and she felt that there shouldn’t be any secrets, period. It just didn’t make sense! Why keep something from your family, from the people you loved and cared about most?
