Lady Aska of Fahren - Part II

[identity profile] pariah164.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:

History: When the land of Cephiro was in crisis, the Magic Knights (Fuu, Umi, and Hikaru) were called from Earth and brought to Cephiro to save Princess Emeraude, the Pillar of Cephiro, from the evil Zagato. However, the trials and tribulations the three girls were put through couldn't prepare them for the truth: Emeraude was in love with Zagato, and since her love was distracting her from being the Pillar, all of Cephiro was at risk. Since the Pillar couldn't take her own life, and nobody in Cephiro could harm the Pillar, she summoned the Magic Knights to kill her. After Zagato was killed, Emeraude's love for Zagato manifested into a powerful form, which was killed by the Magic Knights. Upon her death, the Magic Knights were immediately sent back to Earth.

They traveled back to Cephiro months later, only to find it in a state of near ruin due to Emeraude's death. The land needed a new Pillar.

This is where Lady Aska comes in.

Lady Aska is the first princess of the country of Fahren, one of three kingdoms who jockeyed for the position of the Pillar. Her ultimate wish was to turn Cephiro into a land of sweets and candy, to make it a land that turned her every imagination into reality. Her companions are a wise man named Chanan, and a young boy named Sanyun. Their dragon-shaped battleship carried them to Cephiro a few times, Aska using high-level magic to fight off both the Magic Knights and the second invading kingdom, Chizeta, but she was bested. Soon, Autozam, the third kingdom, used their road to stop the other two from advancing further.

Eagle Vision, the leader of the group from Autozam, asked the two other kingdoms to stop their advance, or they would have to face Autozam in battle. He also told Aska that she couldn't make both Cephiro and Fahren happy, because she would only be able to think of Cephiro, lest Cephiro crumble, like it was already doing. Upon discussion with Chanan and Sanyun, Aska decided that she would go to Cephiro anyway. However, she decided she couldn't become the Pillar, due to how much she loved her own country. Instead, she wanted to learn about Emeraude, and why she died, to hear the truth with her own ears.

Chizeta didn't give up either, so both kingdoms fought Autozam. As all three ships finally entered Cephiro's airspace, there was a burst of power, and the road to the Pillar opened. Mokona was the one who opened the road, and claimed that Hikaru and Eagle had the strongest hearts in all of Cephiro, so they would battle for the position of Pillar in time-stopped Tokyo, Japan. While Hikaru and Eagle fought, back in Cephiro, Mokona revealed himself to be the Creator, not only of Cephiro, but of Earth and its universe as well. He deemed Earth a failure due to all the war, destruction, and crime. So he created Cephiro, a world where one person, the Pillar, willed everything and kept the peace, so long as they thought only of Cephiro. He was also the one who named the Magic Knights.

Suddenly, an announcement was made: the new Pillar was Hikaru, and Eagle was doomed to disappear since he failed the test, since only the new Pillar was allowed to come back. However, Hikaru refused to accept that, and with the help of Umi and Fuu, she brought Eagle back with her. Using her position, Hikaru made a Promise for Cephiro, and eliminated the Pillar system. Instead, Cephiro now belonged to everyone, including the people of Chizeta, Autozam, and Fahren, all of them working together for a better tomorrow.

And so, Mokona and the Mashin went to a new universe, and peace returned to Cephiro.

Character: Elle Bishop
Fandom: Heroes
Character Notes:
History:

Elle was a normal little girl before her powers manifested at a young age, resulting in setting her grandmother's house on fire at six, and a blackout in four counties at eight. At age nine, her father brought her into the Company, the organization he was head of that specialized in locating and tracking evolved humans. She was experimented on by Company professionals, in ways that are alluded to as being inhumane. Being raised in Company walls, she was kind of sheltered from the outside world and she didn't get to experience a lot of things that normal kids did. At a relatively young age, she went from simply being a captive of the Company to being an agent.

However, she had a tendency to flub up most of her missions. Whether it's letting a target get away, killing someone unnecessarily, or her long term struggle with trying to catch Sylar, Elle could never live up to the high standards her father had set for her.

Even still, she wanted to do her best as an agent and make him proud, because she felt that was the only way to make him love her. So when Sylar killed Bob Bishop, and Angela Petrelli took over his place as Company head and fired her, it was a hard blow to Elle. Both the center of her world and the only job she'd ever had were gone, all in the same day.

To make matters worse, after Sylar's attempted attack on her (one he made after killing her father), her powers are glitching. She constantly shocks herself, and is in a great deal of pain. After a lot of initial reluctance, her only idea is to find Noah Bennet, in hopes that, being the knowledgable Company agent he is, he'll be able to help her.

Personality:

Elle is unstable. She can flip-flop from being sweet, nice, and almost normal to cruel and bitchy in five seconds flat. She's a diagnosed sociopath, and this shows in her skewed moral compass. She doesn't see any of the things she does as a Company agent as right or wrong, just orders that need to be followed if she wants to keep Daddy happy. She's very dependent on authority figures, especially her father or those she could put in a father-like role.

She doesn't know how to deal with other people. She views them as her playthings, and thinks it's fun to flirt and use her sexuality to get her way with boys, but when confronted with real affection she doesn't know how to deal with it. But more often than not, in her interactions with other people, she's more likely to be sarcastic and make caustic remarks, not exactly helping her reputation as a bitch. She gets jealous of people like Claire who she views as better off than her, and wishes she hadn't lived such a sheltered life all these years.

Other: Ummm not that I can think of. She likes shocking people for shits and giggles. And I'm taking her from after... somewhere between 3x01 and the Sum Quod Sum graphic novel.

[identity profile] saria.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)

First Person (entry type):

He can't be dead. He's not dead. That sick bastard Sylar, he lied. Just because he has his power doesn't mean anything. He could have taken someone else's power that's the same as Daddy's or used some kind of power like Candice's to trick me. Maybe Daddy did it himself. Faked his death to teach me some kind of lesson or something. And if he did, HE NEEDS TO STOP IT!! I UNDERSTAND NOW! I---

Oww. Anyway. As soon as I get this under control, I'm going to find Sylar and make him pay for what he did to me. And to everyone. And then if Daddy's alive, he'll come back and be so proud of me. And if he isn't, it'll be okay because I got revenge for him anyway. Angela will have to hire me back. I'll have done what no other agent could do. Not even Bennet.

But in the meantime, I'm going to take a little break. I never got to do anything fun when I was with the Company, and London sounds real nice.

Third Person:

God damn it.

Another botched mission. It should have been just another simple bag-and-tag, but things went wrong. They had a way of doing that at every corner, as far as Elle was concerned. She'd gotten a little shock-happy and, well... some people just couldn't handle that much electricity. He got lippy with her, and she wasn't having any of it. Tough luck for Jim-Bob or whatever his name was. She was pretty sure this one had a lame power, anyway. Breathing underwater. What would Daddy want with that?

Elle wasn't really worried about the plight of whatever-his-name-was as much as she was about what Daddy would think when he found out. As the realization of what was waiting for her sunk in, she started to frown. Another lecture. Another Elle-is-a-disappointment speech. Hell, he might even bench her again. God forbid that happen.

As she stood over her assignment's lifeless form, she felt someone push her from behind. She tried to reach out, tried to shock them, but it was too late. She was falling into the pool in front of her, falling, falling, only hurting herself with her electricity, getting lost in the scent of burning skin and the sound of her screams--

And then she woke up. It was just another dream. The more of them she had, the more she hated them. It was so stupid. She hated Sylar for doing this to her. It was all his fault, of course. She hated him for killing her father, for making her lose her job, and this-- this whatever it was, this losing control of her powers? That was his fault, too. There was no Daddy to please anymore, no more missions, no anything. Just the sound of the alarm clock and light streaming in through the window of her dingy motel room. With a crackle from her fingers, she silenced the alarm clock and sat up to begin another miserable day.

Current Characters: Nero, K', Sol Badguy, Yuusuke, Leon Kennedy, Sheva, Sorata

Character: Rock Howard
Fandom: Garou: Mark of the Wolves/the King of Fighters
Character Notes:
History: Rock Howard is the son of the crime boss Geese Howard and Marie Heinlein. His father practically disowned him at a young age, leaving him and his mother to take care of themselves while he went off being the big bad boss of Southtown. The fact that his father had left him and his mother behind is one of the main reasons why he so vehemently rejects his father's bloodline. When Rock was 8 1/2 years old, his mother had fell fatally ill and died while he was trying to take care of her. Shortly afterward was when Terry Bogard defeated Geese, who had thrown himself off Geese Tower, even after Terry had tried to save him from falling. Terry found and adopted the young Rock, raising him as if he were his own son. It was through Terry that he had gained his skills in fighting, along with his bloodline. It was also through Terry that he had learned he was loved and how to live a fulfilling life. However, these peaceful times wouldn't last.

About 10 years later, a new tournament called "Maximum Mayhem" was established, and Terry and Rock both entered and participated. He fought through many opponents, including the serial killer Freeman, femme fatale B. Jenet, the ninja-in-training Hokotomaru (who, ironically, was trained by Terry's older brother Andy Bogard), the sons of the famous martial artist Kim Kaphwan, and even Terry himself. Eventually, Rock made it to the finals, only to find out the man behind the tournament was actually his uncle and his mother's younger brother, Kain Heinlein. We also find out through their fight that the purple aura that Rock uses in battle (and his red eyes) are from his mother's side.

It's also then that Rock finds out that the entire tournament was orchestrated in order to have him meet Kain, who had somehow unearthed Geese's will. Unable to decipher most of it, he decided to turn to the only other living member of Geese's family- Rock. Effectively, he had tricked Rock into helping him by stating that his sister was still alive and that if he came with him, Rock would have the opportunity to meet Marie one last time.

After the fight, Terry arrives at the mansion where the finals were held and spoke with Rock, who told him that he would return to Southtown once his affairs with Kain were finished. Although, funnily enough, it seems that Rock feels some regret from having to leave his home and Terry behind. It's hard to tell if he really believes Kain or not, but any chance that his mother might be alive was one that he was willing to take. It's from here that he begins to work with Kain.

Rock Howard 2

[identity profile] rebelbloodline.livejournal.com 2009-05-20 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Rock is more like your stereotypical modern teenager than most might think. He's friendly when he wants to be, and a right stubborn ass at the same time. Most of the time if you like the same things he does and are at least a decent person, he'll talk to you, but he's fairly distant toward most for several reasons, mostly because of his family history.

And it's actually canon that he has a slight case of gynophobia. Not to the extent of, say, Guy Cecil from Tales of the Abyss, but it's there. Being raised by men most of his life, plus the fact that he saw his mother dying in front of him didn't help the fact. He doesn't mind women, but he's fairly awkward and feels pretty uncomfortable around them. But as his victory quote against Hotaru Futaba showed in Garou, he actually doesn't seem to mind younger girls all that much, it's more actual women he has a problem with, where his victory quote against B. Jenet shows.

He's prone to angsting about his past if brought up, and simply hates himself for it. Really, if he could, he would actually commit suicide in order to escape his family ties. But living with Terry has taught him that he has a lot more to live for, and thanks to that, he isn't completely on the verge of killing himself just to end the Howard bloodline. However, if there's a situation where he could possibly die, he will willingly jump into it despite the possible consequences.

First Person (entry type): Okay, I know that I didn't look for any ducks, or drama for that matter. Goddammit.

Last thing I need in my life is more drama, I've got enough of that in my life already with that bastard and everything going on now. ...hell, I don't even know why I'm still typing all this now. Maybe I need someone to vent to, God knows how long it's been since I've talked to or seen Terry.

Or I'm just that bored. It’s been a while since I’ve actually been out. Not there isn’t much that I already have experienced in this city. But as boring as it is, it’s still home. Always will be.

Third Person: (Family)

Rock looked up for a moment from the papers he was shifting through as there was a knock at the door. He couldn’t believe he was actually working for some guy that had come up to him and basically said that he was his uncle and that he needed his help with his father’s will. Were it any other situation, Rock would’ve punched the guy and continued on his merry way, but something about the words that Kain had told him made him stay. He knew he shouldn’t trust him- the man seemed way too confident, even after his defeat in the Maximum Mayhem finals.

“Come in,” he said, frowning slightly. Who the hell would come in at this hour? Couldn’t be Kain, the bastard barely talked to him since the finals had ended a couple weeks earlier. And even then, it wasn’t during the middle of the night when he was finishing up. Rock had made sure to cover his tracks when it came to that.

“Hey, rookie!”

“Terry?!!” The man that he had considered to be his father more than even his biological father...what was he doing here? And how did he know where to look for him?? “How did- Why are you-”

He laughed, slinging his jacket over his shoulder. “Calm down, one question at a time. I thought I’d come in and check up on you. But I’d never peg you for being the workaholic type, ya know. Or are you looking for something else?”

Rock snorted, nodding. “Yeah. I know I said that I’d come back when things were cleared up here with Kain, but something’s not right. Things don’t add up around here. And I wanna find out what’s going on before more people get hurt.”

“That’s pretty noble of you, Rock. I’m proud of you, you’ve grown up a lot. But if you ever need a place to stay, you know you’ll always have a home with us, right?” Terry asked, ruffling the teenager’s hair.

“Right.”

Character: Sonoko Suzuki
Fandom: Detective Conan
Character Notes:
History: Sonoko is the second daughter of the president of 'Suzuki cooperations' and I think he has another 'Suzuki Industries.' As such she comes from a very rich family. She grew up with both Ran and Shinichi and is Ran's best friend. Her family has villas at the Izu, Somewhere in the mountains, at some other beach, and in a different set of mountains.

Sonoko is sometimes used to solve cases when Kogoro isn't around.

On more then one occasion her hair has gotten her into quite a bit of trouble, usually, when she plays the damsel in distress, it's because of her hair.

Sonoko has an older sister but not other known siblings. She also has an uncle who keeps challenging Kaitou kid.

Sonoko has a not!boy friend, just everyone in DC has a not!significant other, named Kyogoku Makoto. When she first met him she thought he was creepy, but after he saved her life she warmed up to him real fast and has liked him ever since.

Personality: Sonoko is a very blunt girl. She's not afraid to say what she's thinking and she's usually thinking about cute guys. She likes to go out and flirt and drag Ran along with her. She teases Ran about every thing she can, including her fear of ghosts which Sonoko thinks is cute.

Sonoko is devoted to Makoto but that doesn't mean she doesn't still look. She usually wears clothes that are a little revealing *cough*, which Makoto doesn't approve of. Despite being rich, Sonoko is actually fairly down to earth.

Sonoko fully supports Ran and Shinichi's relationship, most of what she does is a round abuot way of trying to get them together. She does not see Shinichi as a loser as the additional link says. She doesn't like that Shinichi is keeping Ran waiting, as she doesn't like seeing her best friend so upset.

Sonoko has proved on more then one occasion that she's a highly loyal friend. Despite the mean things she's done to Ran.

These mean things would be taking inappropriate pictures of Ran to send to Shinichi.

She also a huge Kaitou Kid fan and usually drags Ran along to heists.
Other:

Sonoko is highly social and seems the most likely of ALL the DC characters to join an online community. In fact she has before, she joined a community 'magic lovers' to meet cute guys. Typical Sonoko.

Additional Links:

Have an inaccurate Wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonoko_Suzuki#Serena_Sebastian

First Person (entry type):

Hello Community! I’m Sonoko Suzuki, the beautiful Deduction Queen that can beat even Shinichi Kudo!

Though I have to say… the last time I joined an online community it didn't end so well. But I heard Kaitou Kid was there, if had gotten to see him it would have made up for it, but no.

There seems to be a lot of members on this community, maybe Makoto-san is around here somewhere.

…but then, probably not. He’s probably training still. What is it with boys and their careers anyway? How does Ran wait so easily?

…anyway, nice to meet you all, like I said, I’m Sonoko Suzuki.

Third Person:

A steady ‘beep’ noise emitting from Sonoko’s phone let others know immediately it would be wise not pester her. She was composing yet another text message to the boy she tried so hard to wait for, and so far, she thought she was doing a fine job of it…. The few flirtatious looks at the baseball team not withstanding. …and then there was that one time at the mall… and at the pool… and just a few minutes ago…. And the day before at the ice cream shop. …okay AND at the swim meet last Thursday, what was she a saint!?

All that aside she’d remained perfectly faithful. She only looked, never did she touch. Sonoko pressed the ‘send’ key and closed her slider phone up. Afterward she stored it in her pocket and gathered her bag to leave the building and walk home with her best friend.

Character: Asuna Kagurazaka
Fandom: Mahou Sensei Negima / Negima! Magister Negi Magi
Character Notes:
History: Asuna was born in the Magical World as princess Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia (yeah, I know, long name, right?) Most of her past is unknown since after Eishun's death, Takahata had to erase all memories of her childhood. Which means that she doesn't remember several years of her life, when she was with the Ala Alba (Nagi's group). After this part of her life, she goes with Takahata to Mahora Academy, where she is enrolled as a student. This is where she meets Ayaka, who is her rival and sometimes can be her friend (even though she herself doesn't like to admit it).

Since Asuna is an orphan, the Dean allowed Asuna to stay at the Academy for free, however, she resents it and wants to pay off herself, which she does so by delivering newspapers.

When Asuna first meets Negi Springfield, she becomes angry. After all, she has loved her former teacher, Takahata for quite some time, and now this little boy comes and takes his job - she does not like that at all. So, in the beginning, they hate each other. Especially for the two times when Negi accidentally using his magic to make her clothes go poof, and in turn, embarrassing her in front of Takahata. Later, as the series goes by, the two of them become close. People say that they like each other, but Asuna denies it.

Lately though, Asuna has told herself that she has to get over Takahata, which she has. After all, he is way too old for her. Asuna, though, still prefers older men over younger ones.

It is also said that Asuna isn't really fourteen, but in her mid-twenties.

Character: Leonard "Bones" McCoy
Fandom: Star Trek (Movie XI/2009)
Character Notes:
History:

SPOILERS BELOW! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Leonard McCoy is the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Enterprise. How he got there in the first place is a very long story, but most of it is Jim's fault. Some of it happened long before before he took a seat on a rusting pile of bolts. He's a graduate of the University of Mississippi, with a legitimate doctorate before joining up with Starfleet. The problem is that sometime between med school and his own practice, his marriage turned sour and then quickly turned nonexistent. In the ensuing divorce, his lawyer did an epic job in getting him absolutely nothing. Even if he did get something out of it, it wasn't quite enough. He needed time and space to clear his head from the wreckage and since he lacked the first option the second would have to do.

About halfway up the gangplank, he realized what a spectacular bad idea that was. Somehow it slipped his mind that Starfleet operates in space via spaceships, both of which were anathema to him. His attempts to spend the flight in the only windowless room were thwarted. He wound up sitting next to the only other person not in uniform, James T. Kirk. One flight that felt longer than it actually was later, and McCoy had a nickname and a friend for life. Probably a very short one, if it weren't for that very useful degree of his. For the next three years, McCoy tried to keep Jim from killing himself via bar fight, and Jim kept him from panicking half to death on spaceflights. Among many other useful things. McCoy was there for everyone of Jim's failed Kobayashi Maru's, and the one time he beat it by cheating.

The cheating was a bit of a problem. Especially when halfway through his hearing, Red Alert sirens blared and the cadets were sent off to help rescue missions on Vulcan. McCoy included, and on the newest flagship to boot. Jim almost got grounded in a horribly literal fashion, but McCoy had a momentary fit of pity. With the aid of his handy dandy hypospray and a vaccine, McCoy smuggled Jim onto the Enterprise. The horrific allergic reactions that ensued were absolutely not part of the plan. Neither was the very real trap they very nearly headed into, involving very real Romulans and a very real decimated Starfleet. While chaos and mass destruction ensued all around them, McCoy left the Bridge to got assist the Chief Medical Officer in dealing with the newly wounded cadets. One mistimed explosion later, and McCoy got an in-field promotion. He didn't need to hear the current Captain Spock tell him that.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy (2/?)

[identity profile] ficcyomens.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, it's all badges and ranks until someone gets hurt. The someone, in this case, were the six billion or so inhabitants of Vulcan, now dead by black hole. No, really, a black hole, in the center of the planet. While McCoy treated the injured Vulcans, the bridge regrouped and quickly disbanded. Jim argued that Starfleet could go screw, they should go stop the Romulans from blackholing the Earth. Spock disagreed, and in the ensuing beat down, marooned Jim on Delta Vega. This didn't exactly endear current Captain Spock to McCoy, and the two haven't seen eye to eye since. A short time later, Jim came back with aid from a new engineer. He promptly pissed Spock off enough that he could exploit a loophole and become Captain, where he remains. Saving the world can really make an impression on the Federation.

See? It really is all Jim's fault he's in this position.

Personality:

McCoy takes his medical brilliance and compassion with a side order of grumpiness and a facepalming chaser. While he's very capable, he's got the best eyeroll this side of Hoth. He genuinely cares about people, but they have a habit of not realizing exactly how much danger they're in. Everyone takes space travel for granted here, but McCoy's always a little too enthused to point out just how much could go wrong. He's a voice of caution paired down with a lot of sarcasm and anger. It's as if he can't quite wrap his head around the stupidity of others. He's determined to stop them before they get hurt. This very seldom works, but he continues to do it anyway. It's better to point out the issue and get ignored than to let them carry on regardless of consequences.

The person most likely to not listen to him is his best friend, Kirk. But someone has to be there to clean him up after the inevitable bar fights. He tries in vain to change Jim's mind. The strangest thing about this is how quickly he's willing to stick up for his friend. He's been known to use the regulations Jim never reads in order to help him out. He also gets royally pissed off at people who don't treat him very well. For all his bitching and complaining about Jim's next big stupid idea, McCoy's got a caving habit. Ninety percent of the time he'll do almost anything Jim asks.

He's got a bitter streak in him, leftover from his divorce. He's not the one you want to ask about love. However, if someone's getting the raw deal or raked over the coals, he tends to be there with a flask and an ear. He also hates it when people interrupt him or distract him while he's trying to do his job. McCoy's not exactly above it all as he claims. He managed to join Starfleet despite a raging case of aviophobia. If someone's in trouble, the caution he always stresses gets shunted aside. He's good at thinking on his feet and doing so quickly. He doesn't advertise it, but he's also a fairly good liar if he needs to be. He's singularly focused on trying to help people, even the ones he doesn't get along with.

Except his ex-wife.

Other: When first introduced, McCoy has a very strong case of Aviophobia. In his own words, it means a fear of dying in something that flies. It can be extrapolated that this fear has been lessened over the years. He's very eager to point out the Enterprise to Kirk on their shuttle, for instance. The caution and knowledge that space is dangerous remains, but the fear of it has subsided.

Character: Captain James Tiberius Kirk
Fandom: Star Trek XI
Character Notes:
History: James Tiberius Kirk was born 2333, on Medical Ship 37 of the USS Kelvin, as it made its get away. Hell of a time to be born, right? He even comes equipped with an electrical storm in space. If there was ever a question that he was destined for great things, that phenomenon should appease at least the superstitious.

Growing up in Iowa, though, Jim wasn't sure what he was destined for. Nothing, it seemed for a long time. His mother, Winona Kirk, was unwilling to raise him on her own. She remarried while Jim was still young. He never got on with his stepfather - then again, he never really tried. Not long after the marriage, while his mother was off world visiting relatives on Earth Colony 5, Jim took the chance to steal his father's prized antique car. Hell of an automobile. Booking it away from home, doing eighty on the interstate - Jim knew the whole time that he was going to do some damage to the car. It was the reason he took it out for a joyride. The cop trying to pull him over was just an incentive. That was when Jim really learned how to fly: by driving the car right over a cliff and diving out of it at the last moment. He never thought he'd get another thrill like that. He was almost right.

The next twelve years he spent around the same small farming town, bored, brilliant, and going no where. He was the smartest specimen his town had to offer, but his town wasn't much of anything. Jim spent his days doing odd jobs - anything to pay the rent and keep him out of his stepfather's house - and his nights in Hella Bar. Yeah, stupid name. But the beer was cold and the women were pretty. He could have spent his time in worse ways, all things considered. But he couldn't shake the feeling that he was meant for more.

More came one night in Hella, when the regulars found themselves flooded with cadets ready to ship off to Starfleet Academy. Jim ignored most of them, rowdy bastards making noise - they were entertaining, but he needed to get laid and Ruth had turned him down earlier. So when a pretty girl - a cadet - made her order at the bar, he thought he'd give it a shot.

2/?

[identity profile] do-it-in-three.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Not only was he shot down, he had the quickest bar fight he'd been in in a good long while. When Pumpkin finally stopped pounding on him and Jim was reacquainted with his feet, he had a long talk with Captain Pike. The officer told him everything he really didn't want to hear - his father's heroics, his twelve minutes as Captain that saved eight hundred people - and everything he really needed to listen to. Pike's parting words were to tell Jim when the cadets were shipping off to the Academy the next morning.

He didn't sleep that night. Got the blood off his face, and drove around all night. Eventually, his bike led him to the airbase. Why question destiny, right? Joining Starfleet had to be better than kicking it around Iowa for the next twenty years.

Telling Pike that he'd make First Officer in three years instead of the projected four, he headed off, meeting his best friend for the next few years on the shuttle: Leonard McCoy, who would forever be known to him as Bones. Poor bastard. He's an amusing drunk, if nothing else.

Three years shot by. Jim was good at this. He was born to do this, even if not everyone - himself included - realized it. Jim kept up his studies, chased skirts, annoyed people - it was just like being home in Iowa. Except San Francisco had better weather.

He was determined to make Captain; part of that was a test known as the Kobayashi Maru. Jim was certain he could beat it, the first time he took it. He was pretty sure he'd beat it the second time, too. But no matter what he did, he - and his crew - failed. The test was impossible. Unbeatable. Unwinnable. Jim didn't like that. He designed a counter program, and, just before his third attempt, installed it into the Kobayashi Maru simulation. He didn't believe in no-win situations, and as the test itself was a form of cheating, he felt no guilt in counteracting that cheating.

The Council didn't agree.

A hearing was called, in which he faced his accuser: Commander Spock. Jim defended himself as best he could; fortunately (fortunately being a relative word), an alarm sounded. Starfleet's main army was busy in a far off quadrant; the cadets were left to answer the distress signal Vulcan had sent out. As ship assignments were handed out, however, Jim found that he was not called: unable to think of a way around the council's ruling that he'd be grounded until his hearing was settled, Jim resigned himself to being left behind. Good thing Bones can't stand seeing him look like a kicked puppy.

Then again, Bones can be a real bastard. He injected Jim with a vaccine for a disease he didn't have, giving him the symptoms. Regulations allowed him to take Jim aboard the shuttle that brought them to the Enterprise...And from there, Jim got to experience a whole slew of terrible fucking reactions to the disease. Hand swelling, numb tongue - it wasn't pretty. When he was lucid enough to understand what was happening around him, the Enterprise - under Captain Pike - was warping to Vulcan, with readings of an electrical storm in space.

Current Characters: Yukari Yakumo ([profile] borderhax), Arcueid Brunestud ([profile] thearcofthemoon).

Character: Reimu Hakurei
Fandom: Touhou Project
Character Notes:
History:Also known as the Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise. Reimu may well be the most powerful human in Gensokyo, the magical part of Japan sealed off from the rest of the world. The Hakurei family of priests have maintained the Hakurei border that seperates Gensokyo from the outside world. Reimu happens to be the last of her line.

Reimu's early history is unknown. She is pretty much an orphan, not that it has ever bothered her. Despite this, its likely that as the last of the Hakurei she was raised by the humans of Gensokyo.

Now, the problem with Reimu is that she has been in every Touhou game. The problem is that five of the Touhou games are of questionable canonicity, and the first game barely had much of a story in the first place. For the sake of the RP, I will say that her first mission as a shrine maiden was to purge her shrine of evil spirits using the Hakurei yin-yang orbs, magical artifacts that can only be used by her bloodline. During this time, for whatever reason, Reimu had purple hair and eyes, and rather different outfit.

Her second mission was shortly afterward; one of the evil spirits, named Mima, tried to take the ying-yang orbs for her own, and proceeded to attack the shrine. During this time, Reimu fought against her later best friend, Marisa Kirisame who was working with Mima for whatever reason. In the aftermath, Reimu managed to befriend both of them.

After that, much of Reimu's life was mostly living at the Hakurei shrine by herself, and whatever guests came along. Occasionally, an incident would happen, and Reimu would have to stop it along with her friends. There were the travelers from another world who were trying to study magic, to the youkai from the world of dreams, to the invasion of Makai, which was really caused by a civilian tourist agency. Generally, after beating her enemies, she'd have a tea party with them; in Gensokyo, defeat mean friendship.

Reimu actually doesn't remember much of her “purple hair years”, except for some of the big enemies she fought such as Yuka and Mima; she didn't recognize Alice Margatroid when she confronted her well after the Makai invasion, and Alice was pretty powerful. At this point, Mima seemed to vanish off the face of Gensokyo, and Reimu apparently stopped changing her hair and eye color. She also initiated the spell-card system of Gensokyo, which allowed humans and youkai of varying power levels to compete on an even playing field.

The incidents didn't end of course. There was the vampire who spread red mist over Gensokyo so she could go out in the daytime without an umbrella, and then the ghost princess of the Netherworld who stole the very essence of Spring to make her cherry tree bloom, causing an endless winter. It was after that incident that Reimu met the being that allowed access to and from the Netherworld, Yukari Yakumo, the youkai of borders. Then there was the nearly constant feasts and festivals that were gathered by an oni. After that incident, the oni, Suika Ibuki, decided to take up residence in the Hakurei shrine, much to Reimu's annoyance.

Then a moon princess made the moon disappear, forcing Reimu and her friends to create an eternal night to figure out what was going on. Then a bunch of spirits escaped from the afterlife due to a slacking shinigami. Then there were the rival gods from the outside who wanted to take some of Gensokyo's faith. Then the Hakurei shrine was destroyed by an earthquake, caused by a bored celestial, who later rebuilt it. Then a bunch of evil spirits came up from an underground geyser, due to a cat-girl and a crow-girl with power over nuclear fission. And recently, there have been strange unidentified fantastical objects flying over the skies of Gensokyo...

Reimu Hakurei 2/2

[identity profile] borderhax.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 04:41 am (UTC)(link)

Personality:Reimu has been described as a “laid-back but grumpy miko”. She doesn't like it when incidents happen, and really all she wants to do laze around outside her shrine, sipping some tea or beer. Of course, sometimes Reimu's friends drop in to play with her, which often annoys her. They might even purposely come to annoy her, which REALLY annoys her.

Also, she is endlessly asking people for donations. The Hakurei shrine is rather decrepit, and for whatever reason, few humans visit to donate money, possibly because most of the visitors aren't human. The shrine's lack of donations are a factor in the way Reimu acts towards people. Even a small donation is enough to make her overjoyed. Conversely, any pranks that involve stealing her meager donations, or anything involving the donation box is likely to get her ANGRY. Angry Reimu is not someone you want to be around, since she will kick your butt.
Other:Like many in Gensokyo, Reimu is ridiculously overpowered; she can even teleport during battle, or create near impenetrable barriers. Of course, with her Hakurei ying-yang orbs and various magic charms her offensive abilities are also extremely powerful. Do not underestimate her ability.

First Person (entry type):

So...this must be from the outside world...

And it seems to be working.

Well, as long as it doesn't cause any trouble.

Oh, guess I should mention this. If anyone is reading this, you should know that the Hakurei shrine is quite willing to accept all donations of any currency! Except ice money. That means money made out of ice, to any baka ice fairies reading this.

I mean, really, the Hakurei shrine has been protecting the border between Gensokyo and the outside world for generations! A few coins dropped while your passing by will make our...well, my efforts a lot easier. I mean, I don't mean to brag, but I have stopped several incidents. Plus you would be doing a good deed!

Please?
Third Person: confliction

Reimu never complained when an incident happened, and she had to go resolve it.

That didn't mean she didn't like it though.

And just because Marisa and Alice and maybe Remillia and Yukari were her friends didn't mean they had to visit all the time.

And even though she did like Suika; heck it was hard not to; did she have to freeload at her shrine? She was being stretched thin as it was; after all no-one bothered leaving anything.

Really, some days Reimu just preferred to take it easy do absolutely nothing of importance, sitting a down with tea or a drink in her hand.

And then an incident would happen, or Marisa or Yukari would drop in, or...what was this called, a computer would appear out of nowhere, and she would have to deal with it somehow.

Really thought Reimu as she typed. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother

And so she made what she thought was an advertisement for her shrine, not realizing that things would become a lot less easy for her...

Character: Spock
Fandom: Star Trek XI (The new Trek)
Character Notes:
History:
Note: Spoilers for Star Trek XI

Born to the Vulcan Ambassador Sarek and a human mother named Amanda Grayson, Spock was destined to become a creature of conflict. Raised on his father’s home planet under the strict traditional Vulcan ideals of child rearing, Spock learned how to sublimate his emotions and tendencies to feel just as every Vulcan child did. The sterile relationship with his father did not transcend to the relationship with his mother, and Spock became very attached to that secretive sort of affection he found in her.

Because he was such a novel thing in his ‘own’ world, the other Vulcan children found it pertinent to exploit his human side and ostracize him from their ranks at an early age. It started when he was six after their lessons when the other children would try and evoke emotions out of Spock and prove him inferior. It took them thirty-five tries and some harsh words about his mother to get under Spock’s skin. He ended up beating the instigating boy senseless and getting reproached by his father because of it. Sarek and Spock never saw eye to eye on many subjects as Sarek was, and is, very much a product of his Vulcan upbringing whilst Spock proved to be vastly different from his father. Though this moment in their history together proved to be the first of a few incidents in which they actually bonded. Spock inquired as to the reason pertaining to Sarek’s union with a human woman, and got an unsatisfactory answer. Logic was the foundation of the Vulcan culture, but it made little sense to the young boy to invoke logic where it did not belong. But he soon learned soon enough that logic superseded everything else in comparison to emotion and Spock knew enough to not question it further.

Encouraged to follow the same path that his father had, Spock graduated with highest commendations and honors from school and applied to both the Federation’s Starfleet and Vulcan’s science academy. Merely using Starfleet as a second option just in case he did not get accepted into the Vulcan science academy, Spock was merely covering all of his bases. Upon graduation and acceptance into the Vulcan academy, Spock turned down admission due to the prejudice the high counsel still held against his biracial heritage. Instead, he traveled to Earth and enrolled into the science field of Starfleet and his time as a Cadet there was rather uneventful – save for the fact that he was top of his class and graduated a year early as a Commander. During this time Spock also met Cadet Uhura – for the second time in his life he set aside logic to allow himself to feel, and as soon as she made the rank of Lieutenant and stepped into her own role as one of the star graduates of the Academy Spock allowed himself to initiate a relationship with her. He was also quickly taken under Captain Pike’s wing upon graduation and was not only made his first in command but was given the job of designing a special test for aspiring Captains.

He spent half a year designing and testing his program, and when it was finished he called it the Kobayashi Maru test. Using his intellect and intent to impart the test takers with the challenge of facing a no-win situation and how to handle impending doom whilst keeping their crew calm, he knew fully well that no one would ever be able to circumvent annihilation.

Spock 2/?

[identity profile] vulcan-mind.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
That was until he met Cadet James T. Kirk. The Vulcan Commander knew instantly that the Cadet had tampered with the coding of the simulation, inserting an obvious glitch before total destruction of the Federation ship. He pointed this out to the administrative counsel and Kirk was brought to trial to get to the bottom of his cheating. The Commander was asked to step down and face the accused, which he did as he saw it his personal job to put Kirk in his place, but no justice was served as the entire Federation was put on first alert and shipped out due to the distress signals being sent out by his home planet Vulcan. After assigning his Cadets to their ships and relocating Uhura (at her insistence) to the USS Enterprise, Spock was officially called into duty for the first time.
The crew for the USS Enterprise’s maiden voyage was assembled out of necessity, and Spock had not only taken the role of First Officer to Captain Pike, but Senior Science Officer as well. Things were panning out as uneventful as they could be as they (eventually) moved into warp toward Vulcan in order to investigate the claims of seismic activity and the lightening storm. That was until Kirk turned up again. When he started attempting to persuade the Captain to change course, Spock logically argued against it, but with the additional support from Uhura’s intercepted transmissions from a Romulan ship he conceded to agree with their arguments in favor of defensive maneuvering. When they arrived just outside of Vulcan’s gravitational field, amidst the wreckage of seven other Starfleet Ships and were immediately attacked Spock knew that something was despairingly wrong.

And his first clue was not the Captain of the other ship hailing the Enterprise and making it known that he knew of Spock despite having never met him. The first indications of a more nefarious plot sprung into his mind due to the ship’s abilities to transport and communicate with the Federation were disabled. Nero left him, and the rest of the crew, with a vague yet alarming message, but the personalized message of the Vulcan needing to see something left a great sense of dread within him. It was then they noted the Romulan’s fire drill boring into the surface of Vulcan which was jamming their signals. Nero had requested the presence of Captain Pike aboard his ship and despite being advised to ignore the other Captain’s request Pike had made up his mind. Though, between the Captain, himself, Kirk (much to his chagrin), Ensign Olsen, and Lieutenant Commander Sulu they worked out a plan in the matter of minutes in which to make this situation work to their advantage as much as possible. Spock was assigned to take over the ship as acting Captain, and Kirk to First Officer, while Olsen, Sulu, and Kirk went on the mission to destroy the drill so they could transport Captain Pike back to the Enterprise after his rendezvous with the enemy.

It didn’t turn out to work so well. They lost Olsen on the way down, but Kirk and Sulu were able to disable the drill, thankfully, and reported seeing the Romulans launch something into the hole bored into the planet’s surface. Disaster after disaster struck that day and the crew nearly lost Kirk and Sulu as they were shaken from the drill’s surface and were plummeting toward the turmoil culminating below. Ensign Chekov informed him that the planet was doomed for destruction as the device that was launched was creating a black hole at the planet’s core. Fortunately, Chekov was also able to save Kirk and Sulu, and as soon as they cleared the teleportation pads Spock beamed down to the surface despite it being dangerous. Going down to Vulcan’s surface was the only way he could ensure the evacuation of the planet’s high council – which included his parents. He moved as quickly as he could and informed them of Vulcan’s imminent doom and got them out of the citadel’s inner most chamber. Chekov had locked the transporter on the group that escaped, and just as they were energized a shock of seismic activity sent Spock’s mother tumbling over the edge of a cliff and she was presumed dead.

[identity profile] drnotphysicist.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes: I hope this is okay, I took this from a history that I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] ingen_rpg.

History:

McCoy was born in 2227 in Mississippi where he grew up, went to high school, attended the U of M. He graduated and went into the medical program, where he met his wife. Fast forward several years later, she leaves him and now he's a drunk without anything; no pre-nup and she took it all. Deciding that Earth was no longer the place he wanted to be in, he took off and attended Star Fleet. At first he had a breakdown inside a bathroom with no windows to try and offset his aviaphobia (fear of dying in an aircraft) until a commanding officer tells him to Shut Up And Sit Down TM. That's where he meets James T. Kirk as he's strapping in and starts to rant about everything that could possibly kill him. It's here that he earns the name "Bones". When asked why he was going to join an organization that operated in space, he replied:

"My wife got the whole damn planet in the divorce, all I have left are my bones."

And handed Kirk a flask of liquor. Over the next three years, Kirk and McCoy became idkbff within the academy.

One day, when they were walking back from Kirk's failed attempt of the Kobayashi Maru, Kirk decides to tell him that he' going to do it again. After yelling at Kirk, he's back taking the test with him again on the bridge with the same expression someone gives an unfunny comic. He's proud when Kirk solves it, but he doesn't suspect foul play until there's a hearing accusing Kirk. However, before they can reach a conclusion, there is a distress call from the planet Vulcan. There were all to report to active duty and McCoy was assigned to the Enterprise as one of the medical officers. However, since Kirk's suspension was pending, he wasn't assigned to active duty. As he's walking away, leaving Kirk like a sad puppy, he gets an idea. He walks back and grabs Kirk before taking to a sick bay and injecting him with a virus to make a loophole for him by abusing a regulation that a person could come aboard if their attending physician was assigned to active duty. As Kirk's attending, he could not leave the planet while Kirk was sick.

Just as Enterprise is ready to reach Vulcan, Kirk bursts out of sick bay with swollen hands and then soon later, a numb tongue to go warn everyone about Nero. All this is going on as McCoy keeps injecting different things into Kirk's system.

He becomes chief medical officer when the Enterprise encounters Nero and Dr. Puri is killed in the skirmish. When Spock takes control as Captain when Pike goes onboard the ship, per Nero's orders, he starts to give Spock his opinion - in mumbles . He was in charge when Spock beamed the Vulcan elders back, without Spock's mother; he had to make sure that Kirk and the others were okay, even as the somber air filled the sick bay. He and Spock do not see eye-to eye. They go as far as even arguing with him when Spock leaves Kirk on Delta Vega and starts to grumbling that Spock is OUT OF HIS VULCAN MIND. Though, when Kirk comes back and assumes the position of captain, McCoy knows better than to think this is a good idea. He is on board the ship when Kirk and Spock for on Nero's ship and the first one to make sure that they are all okay.

Character: Furude Rika
Fandom: Higurashi no ku Koro ni
Character Notes:

Hinamizawa. A quiet village in Gifu prefecture, Japan. Seemingly peaceful, it's home to a forbidden secret. Each year, some time in June, the Watanagashi festival is held, as is the tradition. The Watanagashi, or Cotton Drifting, festival is a rite of purification for the residents of Hinamizawa, who float pieces of cotton down the nearby river. The cotton, according to folklore, is supposed to absorb negativity from one's mind and body. It is the only major event in Hinamizawa, one of the many rites used in the veneration of the village guardian deity, Oyashiro-sama. Furude RIka is the shrine maiden in charge of this year's Watanagashi rite. Rika's dance is attended by everyone in the village, including her friends Maebara Keiichi, Ryuuguu Rena, Sonozaki Mion and Houjou Satoko.

Every year on the night of the festival for the past five years, there has been one death and one disappearance. And for the past five years, Rika has watched it all unfold. She hides what she has seen behind a cute face and innocent smile.

Like Rika, Hinamizawa hides a multitude of its own dark secrets.

History:

Furude Rika was born at an indeterminate time in the past, possibly centuries ago. Both of her parents died recently, two years prior to June 1983. The Furude family is one of the three families traditionally held to be the leaders of Hinamizawa, along with the Sonozaki and Kimiyoshi families. As Rika is the last surviving Furude, she must take on the duties of her ancestors, including the maintenance of the Furude ancestral shrine and the sacred rites venerating Oyashiro-sama. Due to these events, Rika was forced to assume roles typically reserved for those many times older than her. She attends the local school, which houses students of all grade levels, due to the town being so small there isn't a need for a larger school. She is part of a sort of club in the school, led by her friend Mion Sonozaki, the de facto head of the class. Also in the club are Houjou Satoko, who lives with Rika due to also losing her parents, Rena Ryuuguu, who recently came back from Ibaraki, and Maebara Keiichi, a boy from the city. The club often engages in games of which the losers must suffer the penalty....usually involving dressing them in some sort of humiliating fetish costume.

Every June, the citizens gather for the Watanagashi festival, which Rika presides over as the shrine maiden. Though it seems innocuous, the Watanagashi festival is steeped in a macabre history. The use of "Wata" as "cotton" is, in actuality, a euphemism to refer to entrails. Specifically, human entrails. In earlier times, the festival revolved around a rite in which a sacred tool was used to eviscerate a sacrifice victim and slowly pull out their intestines, which would be left out for the villagers, and possibly the demons of the village, to consume.

On the night of the festival, one person has died, and another, disappeared. This year, the victims are the nurse at the local clinic, Takano Miyo, and a photographer from the neighboring city of Okinomiya, Tomitake Jirou.

Shortly after the festival, it seemed that Rika Furude would be viciously murdered, her corpse left at her shrine, her bones broken and her intestines torn out as some kind of twisted, ironic reconstruction of the rituals once performed by her ancestors. 48 hours later, all of Hinamizawa would erupt into pandemonium before every single villager, man, woman, and child, would die.

The next day...Rika, Satoko, Mion, Keiichi and Rena would attend school, as if none of this ever happened. The festival would come...Rika would die...Hinamizawa would fall. Again and again, it seems for centuries of repetition.

Only Rika remembers. Nothing she has done has been able to free her from this eternal cycle. She has consigned herself to her fate, to repeat the sad story of June 1983 forever.

Re: Furude Rika app (2/4)

[identity profile] anima-overdrive.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Rika appears as a cheerful young girl, about 8 or 9 years old. Her sunny personality, coupled with her unusual speaking style of ending most sentences with "desu" and peppering her speech with utterances of "mii~" and "nipaa~" have made her appear rather cute to onlookers. This makes her prime bait for Rena Ryuuguu, who simply cannot resist the urge to "take [Rika] home." Her endearing and cute personality does not preclude her maturity when it is needed. Though she seems like a little girl, Rika has grown up in many areas, likely forced by the loss of her parents. She has become a responsible young girl, preparing meals for herself and Satoko and performing the Watanagashi rites as tradition calls. Rika is very open to making new friends, and remains loyal to the ones she has.

This adorable appearance is, for the most part, merely a visage. Rika has, in all actuality, existed for many years. Beneath the facade, she is a very different person. She has relived June 1983 over and over for a time that amounts to at least one hundred years, watching the horrors of Hinamizawa repeat, the bloodshed continue, the tragedies mount. On top of this, she has not found a way to end the repetition. It has sapped much of her will to even fight it, and she feels forced to endure it, and that it is futile to resist. This side of Rika is notably darker than the face she shows to the world. In someone with the appearance of a young, innocent girl, this is highly unsettling. Rika hides it behind that mask to avoid alarming those she cares about. She is a bit of a fatalist in reality, though secretly hopes it may be possible to avert the loop of time once and for all. Rika, in this form, still has a kind heart and devotion to her friends.
Other:
I have only seen the anime of the series, so my version of Rika will be pulled from the anime and what details of the visual novels and manga I do know. In the history section I'm aware I've left out some stuff; This is due to two factors. 1) I don't want to give away the entire plot of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (I may be engaging in canon with the other Higurashi characters here) and 2) There's some details unique to the other media that I have not come across yet.

Excerpt from Wikipedia
Cloud Nyne
Klaud Nyne (クラウド・ナイン Kuraudo Nain?) is the only female General. Formerly an animal trainer in a circus, she seems to be a kind and gentle woman, as she is seen weeping for Sol Galen, Tina Spark, and Gwen Frere who were killed searching for her. Lau Shimin (ラウ・シーミン?) is Cloud Nyne's parasitic-type anti-Akuma weapon that takes the form of a little monkey usually seen riding on her shoulder. It is the first sentient Innocence shown in the series. When invoked, it transforms into a monster that attacks with balls of energy that form at its fists.

We first meet Klaud Nine in chapter 63, where she is seen with General Zokaro in the chapel. After returning to the Order on orders to return back home, she weeps for the deaths of her students. Zokaro only comments on how useless his own students were, but Klaud ignores him. Komui comes in to greet them.

We don’t see much of her until after the Ark. She is seen again with Cross Marian, drinking even though the man is under house arrest. She asks him why she was there and he tells her that he enjoys drinking with women more. He even goes to flirting/complimenting her, but she doesn’t seem to pay much mind to it. Even though she displays an indifference to the situation, she doesn’t seem totally unwilling.

[identity profile] lachry-mose.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
When the Akuma and Noah, Lulubell invade Headquarters, she is seen again with the rest of the Generals who arrive just in the nick of time for Bookman and Allen. This is also when her Innocence is revealed to be an Anti-Akuma Parasitic Monster: Lau Jimin; a monkey that is commonly seen sitting on her shoulder. When deactivated it takes the form of a small monkey. Whether this is an imitation or the real deal is uncertain at this point. She is also seen with a whip, but whether this is also Innocence is also uncertain.

The most recent spotting of her would be in chapter 157, where she is sitting next to Zokaro. Komui is talking about the new Crystal-Type Innocence, when Zokaro comments rudely to Allen Klaud chides him for it.

In chapter 160, a virus that Head Supervisor Komui created to increase productivity, gets loose turning everyone into mindless zombies. Klaud is seen running around biting people (biting others is how its spread) in only a towel, along with the rest of the Generals, sans Cross Marian. He is out at the Vatican during all of this. In the end, Asian Branch Head Supervisor Bak comes and saves everyone with a vaccine.

The next we see of Klaud Nine is in chapter 170, where Komui declares an order to all standing exorcists that if Allen Walker should awaken as the 14th that he must be killed. In chapter 171, we see in a flashback of the Generals and Head Chief discussing Cross Marian’s disappearance and possible death. This is the last we see of Klaud for now.

Although it hasn’t been approached in canon, officially Klaud’s former job before joining the Order was in a circus in America.

We also see in chapter 163 her standing over Timothy with Emilia, telling Timothy that 'studying is very important'. She is his commanding General.

Personality:

Klaud Nine is a very strong-willed woman. She isn't one to be pushed around easily without a push back in some form of fashion or another. She prefers to stand equally among her comrades, not using her status as a female exorcist as any sort of excuse or liability. Despite other men's flirtatious attitudes around her, she is not affected by it enough to show. With ease, she brushes it off, more intent on concentrating on her duty than dabble in personal affairs.

Of course, this does not mean Klaud Nine is heartless. On the contrary, she is quite full of love and compassion. As witnessed in chapter 63, she was seen crying at the altar that held the cremated ashes of her deceased students. Klaud Nine is not afraid to let others into her heart; inside, she will shower you will a quiet rain of love, even if it means heartache and break in the end. Only those deserving of her love will receive it. Respect is to be earned, not given. No one is an exception to this rule.

When in conversation, Klaud is normally a quiet person, a woman of few words. Polite as any woman would be in that particular time frame, she isn't afraid to state the truth, either. She won't sugarcoat her words normally, and even in the occurrence that she does, it is in the smallest degree.

Other: Klaud is being taken from her most recent canon appearance, while tutoring her newest student, Timothy.

Character Notes/History:

*spoilers for Star Trek 2009 below*

Nyota Uhura serves as a Communications Officer aboard the Starship Enterprise, first under the command of Christopher Pike, then under James T. Kirk (who has tried, several times, to get her first name, and hit on her). This particular position is rather important, as the officer is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing transmissions. Uhura (as she goes by her last name and does not tell you her first name unless she 1) thinks it’s absolutely necessary, or 2) she trusts you) is extremely good at her job, and was promoted to Lieutenant Hawkin’s position of Communications Officer, because she was fluent in all three dialects of Romulan and he was unable to translate.

Uhura was originally assigned to the USS Farragut before being reassigned to the Enterprise. Originally her assignment to the Farragut was originated by Spock, who had not wanted to show favoritism, despite her actual talent.

Her specialization at Starfleet Academy was Xenolinguistics (also known as exolinguistics), which is a branch of linguistics that centers on the study of alien languages, phonology, morphology, and syntax. Under one circumstance, Uhura is actually impressed with Kirk when he displayed knowledge of Xenolinguistics, as she had previously thought he was "a dumb hick who wanted to have sex with farm animals." According to her dossier on the Star Trek website, she is stated to be the Academy Aide for the “advanced phrenology and advanced acoustical engineering courses.” Uhura was also the Vice President for Starfleet’s Chorale Ensemble (who knew?)

Uhura was able to detect a message coming from Klingon Territory that indicated forty-seven ships were engaged in battle with an unknown Romulan ship around Rura Penthe. She determined that all the Klingon vessels were lost.

There is also a love interest between Uhura and Spock; when Vulcan is destroyed, she discreetly follows him, and attempts to comfort him in the elevator. Later, they share a passionate kiss before Kirk and Spock are beamed to Nero’s ship.

Personality:

Uhura is smart, sassy, and to the point, and has no problem doing a tiny bit of manipulation in order to get what she wants. A prime example of this is when she originally finds out she is assigned to the Farragut. She is angry, and ends up hunting Spock down and demanding to be placed on the Enterprise. He tried to tell her that he was trying not to show favoritism, but she simply responds by telling him she WILL be aboard the Enterprise, and he agrees.

She’s amazing at her job, and she knows it. She is 83% proficient in Federation Languages and regional dialects.

Character Notes

History: When Sora was younger, she, along with several other children, would witness a night-time battle between two 'monsters' or Digimon outside the apartment complex of Highton View Terrace, an event that was made into a terrorist bombing instead to explain what had happened and led various families to eventually move out, Sora's included.

A few years later, Sora was at summer camp when a freak snow-storm started, then she and six other kids recived these strange little devices that pulled them to another world where they found their own guardian creature or Digimon partner waiting for them.

Reluctant to let her Digimon, Biyomon further their partnership, Sora found herself changing her mind about this while fighting a mind-controlled Meramon. When split up by the first enemy the kids found themselves up against, Sora ended up finding Joe and they joined forces to almost end up being eaten by a bunch of ghost Digimon, Joe being the one to find a way to defeat them and they would head from that encounter to the final battle against Devimon.

Moving on to Server after defeating Devimon, the kids found themselves up against the oddest of bad guys, an Elvis wannabe monkey Digimon called Etemon until someone kept sending Izzy a S.O.S vie e-mails and they broke into Etemon's base, finding a Datamon being held prisoner and freed him, only to be discovered by Etemon while doing so. Both captor and captive launched into battle but when Etemon seemed to be winning, Datamon kidnapped Sora and her partner, intent on cloning the girl to use Biyomon as a weapon against his foe, The other kids were able to locate their friends, rescue them and defeat both evil Digimon, but in defeating Etemon, Tai and Agumon were pulled back to Earth.

Months passed in the Digital World (time moving faster there than on Earth) and the remaining kids slowly split up, Sora and Biyomon eventually discovering a henchmon called DemiDevimon and his master scheming to stop the kids' crests in these pendants they had found in the Digital World and were now carrying from activating. Learning the meaning behind each crest, the partners were discovered by DemiDevimon who proceeded to tell Sora that she would never get her Crest, representing Love, to glow.

Following the other kids around in secret, Sora began to thwart DemiDevimon's schemes against her friends, then Tai and Agumon returned to the Digital Worlds and the kids regrouped, in time for DemiDevimon's master Myotismon to launch his first attack against them, quickly defeating most of the Digimon partners until only an already weakened Biyomon was left.

As Sora and her partner found themselves having differing opinions on letting Biyomon fight, Sora found herself using the exact same words that her mother had told her after refusing to let the girl play in a school soccer match with an already injured leg and realised that her mother did love her and hadn't wanted Sora to hurt herself further. With this revelation, she found her Crest of Love activating even as her Digimon fell under Myotismon's attack, but Birdramon digivolved to her Ultimate level and whisking the group, kids and partners alike, away to safety.

Character: Larry Butz
Fandom: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Character Notes:
History:

Larry made his introduction as Phoenix's first client when he was wrongly accused of murdering the "love of his life," Cindy Stone. During that trial, it's revealed that he's one of the people who inspired Phoenix to become a defense attorney. Though the actual reason isn't stated until the fourth trial, it’s said that, together, Larry and Miles were the only people who would stand up for Phoenix during a class trial in 4th grade, in which Phoenix was accused of stealing Miles' $38. From then on (or, at least, during the time that Edgeworth was present), the three were inseparable friends.

Though it seems the saying in school rang true (“When something smells, it's usually the Butz.”) as it's later discovered that Larry was the ass who stole the money in the first place, meaning Phoenix’s entire life up to that point was a lie.

…okay, maybe it wasn’t that dramatic, but it was still a pretty crappy thing to do. At least he returned the money, right? Perhaps 15 years too late, but still… Despite that, Phoenix and Larry have maintained a decent, if somewhat strained, friendship.

After Edgeworth's trial, Larry took a 2-year sabbatical in Tibet chasing a girl named Bennifer and, later, Katty Tom, who left him for Hollywood. Shortly thereafter, he read a book that changed his life (a children's book called The Magic Bottle) and sought the author, Elise Deauxnim, becoming her pupil and the illustrator for her upcoming book, the production of which was cut short after her untimely death.

Larry's been his usual self since then. :|b

Personality:

Larry is known for falling in love at the drop of a hat and getting his heart crushed in roughly the same amount of time, although his heart must be made of rubber because he’s usually chasing another skirt within a matter of days. He has a penchant for pretty girls, typically models and actresses, and will do absolutely anything for them, and probably at any cost. Not only does he have little luck with the ladies, though, he also can’t seem to hold a steady job. Past occupations include tending a Samurai Dog booth and dressing as Santa (and tending a Samurai Dog booth WHILE dressed as Santa), and his latest endeavor is a part-time job as a security guard at KB Security, which he’s held since October.

In short, he's a flake with a flare for the dramatic and he does most of his thinking below the belt, but he's also a hopeless (very, very hopeless) romantic and, through it all, a genuinely nice, well-meaning guy... HE JUST WANTS SOME LOVE, DAMMIT.

Other: I played him previously! If accepted, I'll be picking him up right where I left off.

First Person (entry type):

I met her. Her. I-I couldn’t believe it! She was everything I’d hoped she would be and more: smart, sweet, understanding… And her eyes! So kind. So… so perfect. I couldn’t help it. I-I blurted out my entire life story! And after all was said and done and I’d confessed my deepest, darkest sins, she just smiled and gently laughed because she knew. She understood me.

We talked for a long time after that (ME. Talking to HER). I shared my hopes and my dreams, told her how much her books meant to me and how they changed my life and drove me to pick up a sketch book again. I showed her some of my drawings and then…

And then something amazing happened. Something incredible.

She chose me as her apprentice. Me. Working with her.

This is it. This is what I’ve been waiting for. Larry Butz is dead.

World? Prepare yourself for Laurice Deauxnim!

Orihime 2/?

[identity profile] heavenly-home.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes: Will be playing her from the manga, pre-cannon, if accepted.
History: Originally, Orihime is an average sixteen year old high school student. She is at the top of her class, and belongs to the school's sewing club. Her best friend is Tatsuki, a young woman dubbed a tom boy because of her interest in martial arts. Kurosaki Ichigo is her crush, and she always seems to be aware of him. Raised by her older brother, who had died three years ago, she lives on her own in an apartment.

Her long hair is always parted by a set of flower hair pins, her most treasured posession. They were a gift from her older brother, Inoue Kakei; the last one he ever gave her. One morning, after a fight over nothing, he gave them to her, and she ignored him as he left. That was the day he died, hit by a car while crossing the street. Her greatest regret is refusing to say their usual parting. To remember him, she is never without those pins. Orihime still talks to him, or, rather, to his memorial shrine. She can be quoting in saying she lives for him, but that comes later.

When Ichigo receives the power of the shinigami from Rukia, Orihime is at first unaware. She cannot see or sense spirits, and only knows that he seems more distracted than before.

But then, one day a Hollow attacks Ichigo; it escapes before he can kill it. It is Orihime's brother, Kakei.

"Hollows follow the ones they love, and eventually eat them," Rukia told Ichigo, and Kakei attacks his sister. He claims that she belongs to him, and that he's watched to grow farther and farther away, as if forgetting him. He says that if she won't live for him, she'll die for him. Ichigo manages to stop him for a little while, but in the end it is Orihime who stops her brother. Taking an attack meant for her friend, Orihime reassures Kakei with her words; that she has not forgotten him, but acting as she thought he would want; in the end, she is finally able to the "have a nice day".

Her exposure to Ichigo's shinigami form awakened her latent spiritual ability. Now she is able to see/sense spirits and hollows. One day, she senses one at her school. Though inwardly she is panicking, Orihime has a plan: act like nothing is wrong and get her friends away as quickly as possible. Even when frightened, her first instincts are to protect the ones she loves. The hollow attacks before they are very far, and Tatsuki takes the blow meant for Orihime.

Everyone else has always protected her. Seeing her best friend hurt, she is determined to change that; to protect her friends as they have protected her.

This determination awakens her spiritual weapon, held in her hair pins. The Shun Shun Rikka (Six Princess Sheilding Flowers) are six little fairies held within her up until that point. In different combinations, but shouting an incantation (including their names), she can defend, heal, and attack. From this point forward Orihime makes the decision to stand tall.

Orihime doesn't really understand what is happening until Urahara, the owner of a shop providing Soul Society goods to Rukia, explains. And then she has to make another decision: to travel on the path of knowlege, or forget what happened.

It gets into plot from here, but if more information is needed, I'd be happy to provide!

Current Characters: Nero, Sorata, Yuusuke, Sol, Leon, Sheva, Rock

Character: Kyo Kusanagi
Fandom: The King of Fighters
Character Notes:
History: Kyo's lived a pretty normal life as far as most things go, actually. Both his parents are still alive, and he wasn't shunned for his powers; quite the opposite, actually. He began training with his father when he was about 6 years old, mostly to learn the basic moves of the Kusanagi style as well as control his flames. Kyo's developed enough in power that he can summon large amounts of flame with little to no problem at all, however, he wears special flameproof gloves and clothing when he knows he has to fight in order to keep them from burning off.

He first entered the King of Fighters Tournaments when he was only 15, teaming up with a friend of his father's and his "partner-in-crime" at school, forming the Japan Team for the first time. They fought through the tournament and met the sponsor, a man named Rugal Bernstein. They fought and defeated him easily. The following year, the Japan team made it fo the finals once again, to find out that Rugal was sponsoring yet again, despite the serious injuries that Kyo and crew had inflicted on him. He boasted being able to use the power of Orochi, an ancient 8-headed demon that was supposedly sealed away via the three ancient artifacts of Japan: the Tsurugi no Kusanagi, Kagami no Yata, and the Magatama no Yasakani. (Pay attention to the names, kids.) Kyo once again defeated him after defeating his brainwashed father, and earned the enmity of one Iori Yagami, who was one of the heirs to the full power of Orochi.

During the '96 tournament, Kyo was approached by Chizuru Kagura, who he found out was the descendant of the Yata clan. She warned Kyo that the seal that their ancestors, as well as those of Iori Yagami, had placed on Orochi was beginning to deteriorate.
During the '97 tournament, a group known as the New Faces team learn of their past as being three of Orochi's Four Heralds and decide to awake Orochi. In order to do this, they had to kidnap Kyo's girlfriend, Yuki, who was found to be the descendant of the clan of maidens that was saved from Orochi by both the Kusanagi and Yasakani (now Yagami) clans. Kyo and Iori decide to join Chizuru to stop them and although they succeed in stopping them, Orochi is able to revive through the use of his Heralds' sacrifice. Kyo and Iori battle Orochi and finally reseal him, but both disappear shortly after the conclusion of the tournament.

It was after this that Kyo was kidnapped by the syndicate known as NESTS. They were looking to form a new super-soldier to use to take over the world, and they thought that Kyo's DNA was perfect to do so. However, Kyo escaped the facility and was seeking revenge for what they had done. He fights in the next King of Fighters tournaments on his own at first, then joining the Japan Team one last time in 2001 while K' and his allies took care of the upper echelons of NESTS.

In 2003, Kyo was approached by fellow Sacred Treasure holder Chizuru Kagura, and was requested to make a team with her and his blood rival, Iori Yagami. At first, Kyo was reluctant to do this, especially considering that Iori had been out to try and kill him for quite a while already. Eventually, however, he accepted, especially once Chizuru mentioned the fact that the seal that held back the demon Orochi was beginning to weaken. AGAIN. Once the trio had defeated Mukai, however, that's when things started getting bad. Ash Crimson, a newcomer to the tournament and wielder of green flames, appeared and forcibly took the Yata no Kagami from Chizuru's body, weakening her substantially. Kyo caught her and watched while Ash told Iori that he was next, receiving a well-deserved bout of purple flames in the process. Kyo swore revenge against Ash, saying "Looks like I'll be busy a while. My Kusanagi blood boils... This is more than a tournament. Because now...I'm really pissed off!"

Kyo Kusanagi 2

[identity profile] burning-fists.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
During the next tournament, at Chizuru's request, Kyo, Iori, and Kyo's self-proclaimed 'student', Shingo Yabuki, entered together. They fought against many opponents, reaching the finals with ease. They soundly defeated Shion and Magaki. However, because of the weakening Orochi seal, Iori snapped, reverting to a state known as the "Riot of the Blood". He beat Shingo and Kyo nearly to death in a berserk fit before Ash appeared again, subduing Iori, but also stealing the Magatama no Yasakani from within him.

DDD Canon: After announcing to the community about the upcoming tournament, Kyo teamed up with Ban Midou and Gaara of the Desert to fight in the next King of Fighters, which was held in Southtown. Howeve,r during the finals, Ash attempted to take the Tsurugi from Kyo, only to somehow awaken Orochi prematurely and forcing the snake demon to possess him. The New Hero Team fought Orochi/Ash and won, ending the tournament and preventing Orochi from coming out again.

However, things didn't turn out the best afterward. Orochimaru and Ash, determined to take Kyo's powers, kidnapped Yuki, Kyo's long-time girlfriend and then-fiancee, threatening to sacrifice her to Orochi if Kyo didn't turn over the Tsurugi and his powers. Backed into a corner, and even though he and the others had teamed up for the task, Kyo was still forced to give it up. Both he and K' were in immense pain for a couple weeks before the group organized a retrieval mission, which forced Ash into giving Kyo back the Treasure or be basically beaten to a bloody pulp by the others, who were getting sick of Ash and his shenanigans.

Kyo and Yuki then got married in December, and now they’re living together in Osaka while Kyo goes job-hunting.

Personality: A good amount of Kyo's personality is conveyed through his speaking style. Kyo speaks fairly casually, using modern speech and curses quite often. He also likes to make references to his flames using puns (as some of his victory quotes have shown). He's also fairly arrogant when it comes to his speech, especially in front of people he either doesn't like or when trying to come off as stronger than he really is.

Kyo initially was extremely devil-may-care as of his beginnings within KoF, but the years have allowed him to realize more what he was supposed to do. He's very protective of his friends, even though he does have his lazy side; one of his dislikes is effort. Despite that, he is an extremely loyal friend and is actually a fairly nice guy to get to know once you get past the smartass side of him. Also, he has a strong desire to protect as well as fulfill his duties as the Kusanagi heir, also wanting to end the blood feud between the Yagami and Kusanagi clans. You can actually see this in his interactions with Iori. Whereas Yagami constantly says that he wants to kill Kyo, all Kyo mentions doing is simply ending their rivalry once and for all by nonlethal methods. He tends to take the matters of his lineage more personally, however, especially where he and the other two Sacred Treasure vessels (Iori Yagami and Chizuru Kagura) are concerned.

Other: As with K’, I’m picking him back up where I left off in DDD-canon instead of a reset if accepted. I just prefer to use this journal for him instead (especially considering how redundant the old name actually was. :| The things you learn.)

First Person (entry type): Sheesh, I’m gone for a few months and everything’s all stirred up. Really, I shouldn’t be that surprised, but there ya go.

Oi, Midou, Gaara, Jack, you guys still here or should I not hold my breath? ‘Cause you’re not gonna believe what’s happened to us in the last few weeks. Nothing as nuts as some of the shit that went down here, but still. Heavy stuff.

Those of you that already know me, ‘sup. Been a while. Sorry ‘bout the disappearance, but I had to start ‘making my contribution to society’, as Yuki put it. Not that saving the world how many times from idiots like Ash and Orochi was nothing...

Oh, yeah. And for those of you newbies or people that haven’t had the chance to, name’s Kyo. Kusanagi Kyo, seven-time King of Fighters champion, heir to the Kusanagi Flames, etc.

History
Crocker is an elementary school teacher for the town of DimmsDale. His
main enemy is Timmy Turner, who’s a 5th grader in his class who wears a
pink hat and has buck teeth. Crocker constantly picks on Timmy, even if
Turner gets the answer correct, gives him an ‘F’, usually in the form
of a marker, but most recently, tattooing that on Timmy’s face. The
reason Crocker is so horrible to Timmy is because he knows Turner has
Fairy God Parents. Denzel never suspected until one day when Timmy
brought in a purple live dinosaur for show and tell. Knowing, the only
way Turner could have gotten that dinosaur and the only one besides
Timmy who believes it to be real, called a Parent – Teacher Conference,
knowing his actual parents could not show up with the fact of what the
project was. He left various traps for the fairies, posing as humans,
like a washroom labeled ‘magical creatures’ since they wouldn’t know
any better, and the toilet inside was booby trapped. Denzel also
torments the children, especially his classroom, for his rotten life
and he’s not fired because of tenure.

Every time Crocker thinks something is the work of fairies, shouts out
like a mad man, and even hurts himself at times, very painfully that
insurance companies would go broke from his accidents, physically from
screaming ‘fairy god parents’ out, meanwhile, Denzel
fellow peers,workers and everyone else consider him to be critically insane and make open mock jokes about him. Like;
"How many Crocker’s does it take to screw in a light bulb? Who cares?
Crocker’s nuts."

Which brings me to my next point about Denzel, because of everyone
thinking that no one will believe it when Crocker cries, ‘Fairies’.
Hence the man’s need to have psychical actual proof.

The reason for Crocker’s obsession is due to the fact that when he was
younger, he had fairies of his own. Because Crocker, himself as a
child, had a horrible baby sitter and a mother, who was never around
and father is presumed dead. Thus, he was able to get fairy god parents
to grant his every wish. Surprisingly, Crocker as a child was much
different then when he was an adult. However, on March 15, 1970, a day
that was suppose to honor little Crocker, with having saving Timmy’s
Dad from being hit by a car, was in fact the worst day of his life. The
day his fairies where exposed due to Timmy Turner who time traveled to
prevent just that and after it happened, Jorgen Van Strangle (toughest
fairy in the universe), forbid any more inference in the month of March
in 1970.
Crocker’s memories, along with Cosmo and Wanda (Crocker’s ex fairies),
the crowd that came to honor him, where eased, because of the ‘Da
Rules’ of exposing your fairy god parents to others. So instead, the
crowd that had come to honor Crocker ended up raiding the boy as an
angry mob, pitch forks and fire sticks included, having forgot all the
good things Crocker has done with the help of magic.

However, the DNA tracker, Timmy had used to find Crocker, in the past
was left behind, and Crocker got his hands on it just before Jorgen Van
Strangle had eased his memory, placed a hair strand from Cosmo in the
device, as well as writing on the back, ‘Fairy Godparents Exist’.

Thus, after having had hidden from the angry mod, Crocker read the back
of the DNA tracking device, and believed again, which resulted in
spending the rest of his life as a hobby, trying to capture Fairy God
Parents.

Ten years later, on March 15, 1980, after, having graduated from the
university and spending years on proving the existence of Fairy God
Parents, was presenting to scientists, the US army, his findings that
lacked scientific back up. Though his pitch on the subject was
profound, "How would you like it if whatever you wanted just magically
appeared?"
He’s able to know now, that these ‘fairies’ are assigned a child, and
wanted to collar children, so the fairies could be captured and their
powers used to take over the world.

When split up by the first enemy they would face, the kids found themselves up against, Sora ended up finding Joe and they joined forces to almost end up being eaten by a bunch of ghost Digimon, Joe being the one to find a way to defeat them and they would head from that encounter to the final battle against Devimon.

Days and even weeks passed in the Digital World (time moving faster there than on Earth) and the remaining kids slowly split up, Sora and Biyomon eventually discovering a henchmon called DemiDevimon and his master scheming to stop the kids' crests in these pendants they had found in the Digital World and were now carrying from activating. Learning the meaning behind each crest, the partners were discovered by DemiDevimon who proceeded to tell Sora that she would never get her Crest, representing Love, to glow.

Following the other kids around in secret, Sora began to thwart DemiDevimon's schemes against her friends, then Tai and Agumon returned to the Digital Worlds and the kids regrouped, in time for DemiDevimon to attempt an attack on Sora and his master Myotismon to launch his first attack against them, quickly defeating most of the Digimon partners until only an already weakened Biyomon, who had taken DemiDevimon's attack to protect her partner, was left.

With this revelation, she found her Crest of Love activating even as her Digimon fell under Myotismon's attack, but Birdramon digivolved to her Ultimate level and whisked the group, kids and partners alike, away to safety.

Not that I'm a mod or anything, but I thought I'd just let you know that first person examples are supposed to be 100+ words and third person 150+ words. You also might want to lengthen the character notes just so that the mods know you have more knowledge of the character you're wanting to play.

HK-47 [1/2]

Player nickname: Raptor
Player LJ: [livejournal.com profile] raptor41887

Are you at least 15?: Yep
Current Characters: None

Character: HK-47
Fandom: Star Wars: KOTOR

History: Designed by Revan, his purpose was to assassinate people whose presence destabilized the galaxy's economic/military strength. He served Revan during the Jedi Civil War; when Revan was captured, HK-47 was claimed as 'spoils of war' by a Mandalorian soldier. Throughout the following years, HK bounced from master to master, leaving a trail of death in his wake. Every one of his former masters ended up dead - usually acidentally by his own hand. He eventually ended up on Tattooine, where he was found by a memory-wiped Revan. The ex-Sith Lord needed a droid who could translate the Sand People's language, and thus HK was reunited with his original master. After the defeat of Darth Malak, Revan disappeared, and HK-47 was badly damaged. He was repaired by an individual known as the Jedi Exile and returned to doing what he does best - killing meatbags... and second-rate imitators. He tracked down the HK-50 droids, based on his specs, to their factory - and destroyed everyone and everything there. With the Exile now having disappeared in search of Revan, HK is now master-less... and he rather likes it that way.

Personality: HK is sarcastic and condescending. To everyone. Even his master. Being a droid, he is stronger, more resilient, smarter, more flexible, and fluent in more languages than pretty much any human. He's also kind of a Magnificent Bastard (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MagnificentBastard), as he's incredibly good at hiding his assassin-ness if he has to. He speaks with an odd syntax, putting the context of his statement before the statement itself. For example:

Reluctant greeting: I suppose I must introduce myself to you pitiful meatbags. I am HK-47.
Boast: I am only the most advanced and talented droid this side of Dantooine.
Mocking query: And what are your accomplishments, meatbag?

HK-47 [2/2]

[identity profile] raptor41887.livejournal.com 2009-05-29 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Other: Besides being a crack shot with a rifle (really any firearm, but especially rifles) HK is also a talented protocol droid. He can translate almost any language, including that of the Sand People (aka Tusken Raiders), which most other protocol droids can't decipher. Ironically, since he's from "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", he won't be able to translate Earth languages at first. Presumably he'll know English, since it's almost identical to Galactic Basic - but as for French, German, Japanese, etc... he'll have to learn 'em as he goes. As for weaknesses, well... he's a robot. He has countermeasures against most things that would royally screw up his electronics, but they're not 100% foolproof.

First Person (entry type): Bemused statement: This is not the database I was trying to access. Perhaps I mis-typed something ...
... Exclamation: Still nothing! There must be a glitch in my system.
Resigned statement: *sigh* Well, I suppose I must seek help here.
Introduction: I am HK-47, protocol droid. I specialize in translation and ... aggressive negotiation.
Statement: This is a queer place, unlike any computer interface I know.
Query: Is it too much to hope that there is someone who knows where... or what... this is?
Resignation: My database has no record of this 'drama drama duck'. I reluctanty request assistance, so that I may return hastily to my work.
Clarification: My work which, I might add, is quite time-sensitive.

Third Person: (prompt: red)
HK-47 was red... Revan had painted him that color. Perhaps it was simply because the HK-24 droids, upon which he'd been based, used that same color. Or perhaps there was no other paint available to Revan at the time ... HK neither knew nor cared. He was red, and it was fitting. In earlier years, he was a deep, untarnished red - the color of blood spilled on the sands. To spill blood - that was his main function. There was a bit of poetry in that. Now, older and more worn, he was rusty, almost orange - but he found no disadvantage in that. It made him rather distinctive, and it showed his age and experience, to boot. It took a special kind of droid to survive for this long. And to find its way back to its original master, its original purpose, after countless years - that was even more admirable. HK had done those things, and now he was rewarded with freedom. No master, no orders... just his own programming and protocols. Alone with himself... what would he do now?

... probably spill some more blood.

Character: Garnet Til Alexandros XVII
Fandom: Final Fantasy IX
Character Notes:
History: VAGUE SPOILERS FOR FFIX (not that anyone ever plays it)
Garnet is the current princess of Alexandria, one of the major kingdoms of the Mist Continent. Her mother, Queen Brahne, was considered a great queen; however, after the king's death, she began taking advice from a strange man. Slowly, she became more and more corrupt and infatuated with world domination, leading Garnet to become more and more introverted and concerned for her mother's welfare. She also began having reoccurring dreams of a giant storm at sea and a woman whose face she couldn't quite see. (It would later be revealed that this was her real mother - they had escaped from the destruction of the Summoner's village by sea, but her mother had died before they could reach Alexandria. When Garnet's ship crashed in Alexandria's harbor, Queen Brahne saw that she was identical to the original Garnet, who had died shortly before due to illness.)

By her 16th birthday, Garnet had resolved to escape the castle and hitch a ride with the traveling theatre group performing at the castle; they would take her to Lindblum, where she could talk to her uncle, the Regent, about her mother's change in demeanor. Of course, this was made easier by the fact that the theatre troupe had been hired to kidnap Garnet in the first place. Garnet and the thieves crash landed in the Evil Forest, which she and one of the thieves, Zidane, escaped from. They traveled to Lindblum and, when Garnet finally spoke with her uncle, he revealed that he had been the one to ask Zidane and company to kidnap Garnet. He had seen the changes in Brahne's demeanor as well and wanted to talk to Garnet about it.

From there goes pretty much the entire game, and I don't want to spoil it any more than I already have 8( Also it's irrelevant at this point since I'm playing her starting from pre-canon.

Personality:
There are two sides to Garnet; the princess and Dagger. As a princess, Garnet is polite, courteous, soft-spoken and very mature. She is well prepared to take on the tasks that being a political figure requires her to do, and she's beloved by her entire kingdom. However, she has a desire for adventure, and while she's matured enough to not be running around the castle pretending to fight off dragons, she still daydreams often of doing things like that for real.

Dagger is her "incognito" persona; the one she uses in order to blend in with the "common people." She retains most of her soft-spoken polite nature, but tries to be more casual, using contractions and whatever slang Zidane teaches her. She barely pulls it off at first, but as she continues pretending to be Dagger, she becomes better and better at it. (Of course, this is only after they escape from Alexandria.)

First Person (entry type):
How very strange. Blutzen brought me this journal from the libraries, assuming that it was mine; however, I have never seen anything like this. There does not seem to be any magic involved that I can tell, and yet it seems so mystical I can hardly assume that there would be any other explanation. Perhaps it is some kind of joke...?

In the outlandish chance this is real, and these previous entries - I can hardly understand them, to be perfectly honest - are not some elaborate prank put on by Zorn and Thorn, I believe I will need some sort of evidence.

I am Garnet Til Alexandros XVII, princess of Alexandria. If you can read this, please respond! If this is real, I simply do not know what I will do...

Third Person:
It was all Garnet could do to not throw herself off the balcony when saw the flock of doves sweeping up from the bailey below, over the parapets and into the blue summer sky. They often flew in the opposite direction of her windows and so she was resigned to watch them fly away from her, but this one time they had decided to grace her with their presence, and it made her long to spread her own wings and follow.

Even through the stone walls and thick tapestries, she could hear her mother bellowing at one of the Alexandrian guards, beyond aggravated about something that she could not quite discern. What was once a soft and loving voice had grown harsh and pompous, and it made Garnet cringe to think that her mother had become such a... monster. The white wings that had drawn her attention were now far away, specks in the sky as they flew over the palisades and towards Lindblum - the exact same place she wanted to be.

Of course, while all birds had to do was spread their wings, things would never be so easy for her.

"Your Highness," came the soft voice of one of the Alexandrian guards; Garnet turned and smiled forcefully at the woman. It would do no good to show her anxiety at this point. "Her Majesty wishes to speak with you. She has arranged for a theatre troupe from Lindblum to perform at your birthday ceremonies, and wishes to discuss which play she should request."

"Thank you, I'll be there in just a moment." Garnet was polite enough to wait for the guard to step outside and shut the doors before surging forward on to the balcony, hands pressed tight against the railing as she leaned over and looked into the distance, a real smile beginning to rise on her face.

It wouldn't have feathers, but airships had wings all the same.

Character: Kuna Mashiro
Fandom: Bleach
Character Notes:
History:
At least 101 years ago from the current events in Bleach, Mashiro was lieutenant of the 9th Division under Muguruma Kensei. Then she was whiny and rather childish, often throwing tantrums over the smallest things, such as going along with Kensei in a mission to investigate the disappearances of souls from Rukongai and a missing group of shinigami.

This would prove to be the last mission they would undergo as shinigami of the Gotei 13; while Kensei was saving the young Hisagi Shuuhei from a Hollow, Mashiro happened to find the empty uniforms of the vanguard unit that had been sent out before them. Kensei decided to stay in the area and investigate, after sending out a few of his squad, and Mashiro stayed with him. After nightfall she was asleep in their tent when Kensei's men were attacked, then Kensei himself, presumably by a young Tousen Kaname who was one who served directly under Kensei. While her captain tried to wake her up it was never shown what happened to Mashiro then, but it is known that she and Kensei were the first of the group that would come to be called Vizards to be Hollowfied. Later when a Hollowfied Kensei was attacking the majority of the group, all of whom were shinigami captains and lieutenants in that time, Mashiro reappeared also in a mostly Hollow form and viciously attacked Otoribashi Rojuro. She was soon restrained by a high-level kido thanks to the late arrival of Ushoda Hachigen, and though Kensei's rampage was stopped soon after the entire group was attacked by none other than the three traitors of Soul Society; Kaname Tousen, Ichimaru Gin and Sousuke Aizen. Central 46, sort of the governing head of Soul Society, blamed then 12 Division captain Urahara Kisuke for conducting illegal experiments with Hollowfication that resulted in the conditions of Mashiro and the others; but because they were Hollow now in addition to shinigami, they were condemned to be exterminated as Hollows. Thanks to the efforts of Shihouin Yoruchi, Tsukabishi Tessai and Urahara, Mashiro and the rest of the victims were saved and Urahara tried to reverse the Hollowfication, but to no avail.

As it was, they were all placed in gigai and went into exile on Earth, as neither human nor shinigami nor Hollow but a mix on all three. Somehow they were able to return to states as mostly human, or perhaps shinigami as they still retained their zanpakuto, but with everyone's Hollow awakened they had to learn to control it, and eventually they do. Thus, Mashiro becomes a 'Vizard'; a shinigami with the powers and mask of a Hollow.

101 years later finds Mashiro living in a warehouse protected by kido with her fellow Vizard; Kensei, Hiyori, Rose (Rojuro), Love, Hachi, Lisa, and their unofficial leader Hirako Shinji. Mashiro officially debuts in the manga at this time with all but Shinji and Hiyori, being one of the observers of Kurosaki Ichigo's skirmish with Hiyori and also a restrainer with the rest of the Vizard when Ichigo's Hollow took over and he nearly killed Hiyori. Mashiro is never shown to assist 'Berry-tan' in his subsequent Vizard training, instead seen being concerned when her fellow Vizard are in danger, pestering Kensei, and throwing a tantrum when Hachi is friendly towards Inoue Orihime when the latter drops by to deliver a message to Ichigo. However, an eerie fact is revealed: Mashiro at one point asks why Ichigo is undergoing this training to sustain the materialization of his Hollow mask, and Kensei tells her the reason why and remarks that Mashiro should have done this kind of training too, but she hadn't. Shinji then says that of all the Vizard, Mashiro is the one who never had to train, as she sustained her Hollow mask for fifteen hours on her very first try. The last time Mashiro has been seen is with her fellow Vizard, heading out to the battle in Karakura Town between Aizen's forces and Soul Society.
ridethetiger: (THE KITTYBOI WONDER!)

Kuna Mashiro 2/3

[personal profile] ridethetiger 2009-05-31 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Mashiro is often listed as the most childish of the Vizard, due to her tendencies to whine and complain and throw tantrums despite being anywhere from her late teens to her early 20's. It's a carry-over from her times as a shingami, though in the present she has been shown to feel concern for others, and display a measure of seriousness when she helped to restrain Ichigo and when Shinji commented that they owe Aizen for their powers even if they were all marked as traitors, before heading out for what may be the final battle. Curiously enough, even with her outlandish appearance Mashiro seems to constantly be pouting, and is never shown smiling. When she was a shinigami she seemed carefree enough to be the only one who stayed calm and relatively untroubled during the investigation, even being able to sleep soundly in Kensei's presence.

Other: Mashiro's character design appears to be heavily based on tokusatsu. In the present time her outift is a skintight white jumpsuit with orange gloves, boots and a scarf, which stands off as much as her lime green bobbed hair topped with goggles. Her Hollow mask in particular resembles that of a bee, hornet or moth, and is likely a reference to Kamen Rider; especially her Hollow form, where she was armored from the hips down and specialized in high-powered jumps and kicks. She also carries around her zanpakuto in her hands, which may imply that her particular sword-style is battojutsu. How her Hollow abilities manifest as a Vizard is unknown at this time.
