Personality: Remy is, by nature, a well meaning kind of guy. His heart is in the right place, but his emotions guide him. He's learned to control this over the years, but if he's provoked, it's difficult for him to hesitate. His moodiness depends mainly on the wellbeing of those he cares about as he's really only looked after himself for the majority of his younger years. So, friends mean a lot to him whether he's fighting with them or buttering them up.
He's rather calm in dangerous situations as long as his friends are doing fine. He isn't one to panic over a weird situation and may very well be found laughing about it off to the side. Laid back to the point it irritates some people, Remy masquerades as all grins and Southern comfort. No matter where he goes or what he's done, he's a New Orleans boy through and through and that makes him quite the force to be reckoned with when there are fun times to be had.
On the flip side, Remy isn't one to allow people push him around. He doesn't like being told what to do and seems forever stuck in that awkward teenage phase where he feels he has to prove his worth and show off. This may very well be why he doesn't get along all that well with Logan. With his temper and his sometimes immature antics, it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine Wolverine losing his own temper with him. Even so, they're teammates and they tolerate each other.
When it comes to women, Remy is more than happy to flirt. He's naturally confident and tends to turn up the charm when he see's a pretty face. He knows just how to get what he wants without hurting anyone and would rather take that route. Although, he isn't opposed to kicking up some dust and having a little brawl every now and then. After all, a boy's got to keep his wits about him.
Other: Remy's mutant powers consist of energy manipulation and a small amount of hypnotic charm. He taps into the potential energy an object contains and can turn it into kinetic energy and throw it. Upon impact, the object will immediately explode. This power is limited to inanimate objects only. Remy cannot charge anything living. With the ability to manipulate kinetic energy comes the ability to create a static shield to protect his mind and keep even the most powerful telepaths from detecting his location.
Charm wise, Remy is able to subtly influence any sentient mind. It isn't incredibly strong by any means and Remy mostly uses it to compel others to believe what he says and agree with certain suggestions.
Due to his training as a child, he retains the ability to throw small objects with amazing accuracy and is quite deadly with a knife or even playing cards.
First Person (entry type): First off, I ain't seen nothing like this on the Institute's network before. Color me impressed. So this is a community, non? Boring stuff aside, I'm guessin' I should get to introducing myself.
Names Gambit. It ain't my real name, so don't be going on about what an unfortunate kind of child I am. It's what you call an alias, homme. Good for a lot of things. As for hobbies, you could say I got skill with cards. I got a lot of practice with them, after all.
Guess it ain't too much to tell you I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana. You ever been? You ain't gonna find summer nights like those in New Orleans anywhere else. Reckon that should be hard enough to resist.
Third Person: Far be it for Remy LeBeau to end the night on a bad poker hand. He was only vaguely aware of the hours they had spent at this table, tossing cards and jeers at each other like drunk frat boys. With a beer in one hand and a hand of cards in the other, Remy's luck was just beginning. "Y'ain' seen not'in yet, homme," he declared as he laid the cards out on the table, an Ace High Flush. Not too bad. The table erupted in groans and rattling poker chips as Remy confidently grinned.
He gathered his winnings and stacked them to the side before collecting the cards. Shuffling the playing cards was almost as fun as the act of playing the game for Remy, dramatic showboating and all as he flicked cards from hand to hand with perfect accuracy. Straightening the deck, he began to deal the cards one at a time, filling his own hand in the process. He set the remaining cards to the side and flashed each player and challenging smirk.
Upon picking up his own hand, his gaze visited each individual card. One could never tell with Remy whether or not he had a good hand. His expression remained even, eyes showing nothing but amusement for the game itself. Each player set their hands down, oddly content with the hand they'd been dealt. Remy's red eyes nearly glowed at the sight as he revealed his own hand.
"Kings full o' Aces. Looks li' y'ain't learn'd yo' lesson yet, mon ami." The King of Thieves had no need for the Aces up his sleeves this time.
