Character: Starfire
Fandom: Teen Titans Animated Series
Character Notes:

History:

Before coming to earth, Starfire was the crown princess of the planet of Tamaran, a species of orange skinned and green eyed aliens capable of flight, and enormous feats of strength. As the daughter of the royal family, Starfire is also gifted with the ability to launch beams of solar energy from her hands.

She and her sister Blackfire were raised to eventually take over the leadership of the planet from their parents. However, after an invasion by another race of aliens, Starfire’s father was forced to give Starfire to the invaders to keep them from destroying Tamaran. She was taken away from the planet as a slave, although with her sister Blackfire, though the two were taken to different places. During the voyage she managed to escape from the pirates and fled to the closest inhabitable planet…which was earth, of course.

There she ended up battling against the young hero Robin, a battle which spread out to encompass a number of other young superheroes. Starfire managed to kiss Robin, allowing her to absorb English into her mind, and the group figured out that they were not, in fact, enemies.

They joined forces and together managed to find off the aliens who had followed Starfire to earth. Afterwards, Starfire decided that she would remain on earth. Together with the other heroes who had come to her aid, they formed the Teen Titans.

Personality:

Starfire’s race believes that their emotions are what fuel their strength and power, and so they are an exceptionally emotional people. Whether it is sadness, anger, happiness, or anything in between, they throw themselves into each emotion as if their life depended on it. And Starfire is no exception.

When she is happy, she is ecstatic. When she is sad, she is heartbroken. When she is angry, she is furious. She does nothing by halves, she probably wouldn’t even know how to temper her emotions. She cannot comprehend how her teammate Raven manages to use meditation to ‘control herself.’ In fact, if she tried, she’d lose the things that make her powers so strong.

Starfire is a stranger on earth, and she has been slowly trying to learn about her adopted world, but many things are still strange and confusing to her. She comes off as stupid at times, but she is actually quite intelligent…she simply doesn’t know how things work here. Her English is often broken, using the wrong word as a noun or adding words where they don’t need to be. Her language is littered with random words from her own language as well.

Other: I’m taking Starfire from early in the first season of the show, so she can go through the series over time. She’s more fun when she doesn’t know too much about earth.

First Person (entry type):

I come bringing the victory! Oh, I am so excited, I have cooked a cake, and it is cake-shaped and cake-colored and everything!

It took me hours and hours and I feared I was messing up several times but it is finished! It looks simply wonderful!

But when I told the others, they all had to be elsewhere! Beastboy is doing the charity and Robin said he had to go on patrol and Raven…I do not know where Raven went she did the thing she does when she disappears into the wall.

So! Who is to be coming and trying my cake? It will be Delicious!

Third Person: Confliction.

Starfire was bored.

Everyone else was away from the tower for the afternoon, but because there had been rumors of Doctor Light in town, someone had to stay behind to keep an eye on the radio and television and signals, and to call everyone if something happened.

And she had lost the game of ‘rock paper scissors’ that she always seemed to do very badly in anyway, which meant she was stuck here, watching computer screens and television monitors and it was all very, very boring.

She kept finding herself drifting aimlessly around the large monitor room, the tips of her toes a few inches off the floor as she floated here and there, staring out the large window or peering out the door and down the empty hallway, or over to the kitchen…never going quite out of sight of what she was supposed to be doing, but always coming oh so close.

She wanted to be outside. It was a glorious day outside, the sun was up, there were barely any clouds. It was the perfect day for flying. But she had a duty to be watching the monitor for her friends.

But she wanted to be outside. It was almost enough to make her angry!

She flopped down in the monitor chair with a huff and put her feet on the edge of the terminal, staring up at the big screen as some old human with fake hair rambled about the local economy or something. Starfire could never understand why they needed entire television stations dedicated to nothing but news. News was important, but it was boring.

Even the commercials were boring. Sometimes they were for interesting things but mostly they were boring.

Finally giving in, she tugged her communicator off her belt. “Rooooobin! I am The Stir-Crazy. Please come home!”
